The Crabshell Inn at Kingsbridge

Another firm family favourite, the Crabshell Inn is a friendly and welcoming gastropub. Sit outside for dining with fantastic views over the Kingsbridge estuary. It’s an all day sun trap.

They serve a great range of draft beers and the food is all homemade. Of course, there is plenty of seafood on the menu but if you fancy a change try their pizzas – they are famously good!

The New Inn

Open throughout the year serving food 7 nights a week serving a variety of dishes, The New Inn dates all the way back to the 17th century and is one of the ‘New Inns’ built under Elizabethan Charter to provide shelter for travellers after the Dissolution, the Inn was also the original Court Room for the Stanborough Hundred district.

The Oyster Shack

Local to Thatches, The Oyster Shack is a firm family favourite all year round. The delicious and varied menu offers a seasonal BBQ menu featuring the catch of the day, crab, lobsters and of course, oysters served a variety of ways. A scenic drive along the tidal path takes you to the restaurant where there is plenty of parking – and they even do takeaway!

The Ship Inn, Noss Mayo

The Ship Inn is another favourite spot of ours. It really is a stunning location right on the edge of the Yealm estuary – a great spot for sitting in the sun and watching the world go by on the water! The owners pride themselves on their beer selection, and the daily changing menu features a great range of local produce. There are lots of sailing opportunities in Noss Mayo, and plenty of walks and fabulous crabbing spots!
